This love between two feral cats is just SO beautiful

Cerritos and Cloverly are two feral cats who love each other sooo much. One day, we found Cerritos critically injured, and trapped him so we could try to save his life. We couldn't take Cloverly with him, because he was too severely injured and needed intensive care.  

After 78 days, he began the final stage of his recovery, and we hoped he would get a little boost from having her come in for a visit (and a spay...).  He had nearly died, and been through so much, and been away from his love for so long, we didn't know how he would react... but we had to try.
What happened next blew us away.

The moment he realized she was in the room, he became a different cat. They were overjoyed to be reunited, even after everything, and even in a strange place.  It is a remarkable love to get to witness.

As much as we love them, they absolutely do NOT love us, nor would they be happy living in captivity at this point in their lives.  As bittersweet as it will be, we plan to return them to their home in the wild once both are fully recovered.  We know that's where THEY will be happy, and that is what they deserve. They come from a feral colony with more than 200 cats.  We are spaying and neutering the cats, and providing food and care every single day.
