Around 50 years ago, Mrs. Lucy D'Souza began a tiny mess to cater homestyle meaty meals to a handful of customers in the coffee town of Mudigere, Karnataka. The reputation of her homely fare comprising mutton, fish and pork delicacies prepared to an interesting confluence of Mangalorean, Kodava and Mudigere culinary influences, grew over the years making Eddies Mess a mandatory lunch stop for meat lovers in the know, locals and travellers alike, Today this mess is tended to by her son Eddie and his wife, Lavin D’Souza. If you love your nonvegetarian oota, this place is a definite mustvisit when in the area.
