Chevrolet produced the Spirit of America Nova in anticipation of the United States bicentennial in 1976. In 1974, approximately 20% of Novas came with the Spirit of America package. However, only 14,463 Spirit of America Novas were built in 1974, while roughly 390,537 Novas were built that year.

In 1982, LincolnMercury Division became the exclusive automotive sponsor for TV coverage of 17 Professional Golfers’ Association tournaments. By 1992, LincolnMercury Division was the title sponsor of the “LincolnMercury Kapala International” golf tournament. It should probably come as no surprise, then, that in the fall of 1991, Lincoln offered a 1991 Jack Nicklaus Edition Town Car.
