This was a 1600 km long journey (1000 miles), and it took me from Stockholm, through the towns of Oskarshamn, Kalmar, Nybro, Karlskrona, Önneköp, Malmö, Mölle, Älmhult, Ljungby and back to Stockholm. And along the way I saw both historical castles and unique places.

Kalmar is one of Sweden's oldest cities, and this is where Scandinavia became united under the Kalmar Union between the 14th and the 16th century. And close to Kalmar you find the town of Nybro, with the world's only permanent James Bond museum. The museum is run by a man called...James Bond.

From there I traveled to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Karlskrona, where a Russian submarine went aground in 1981 and almost started a war between Sweden and Russia. From there I visited the car cemetary at Kyrkö mosse, outside of Ryd, and Arnold's Cannibal Museum in Önneköp.

After that it was onwards to Malmö the crime capital of Sweden with its infamous Disgusting Food Museum. I also paid a visit to Nimis and the micronation of Ladonia in the southwest of Sweden. Followed by a visit to the IKEA Museum in Älmhult where the first IKEA store opened.

But there was more to see! How about Cliff Burton's memorial stone? And a statue of Brigitte of Sweden? This trip had a lot of both weird and wonderful sights from the south of Sweden.
