Africa is home to many amazing venomous snakes. This continent has many ecosystems. We will explore deserts, savannas and rainforests of subSaharan Africa. The last, third episode is about venomous snakes living in rainforests. We will begin with a scene where the Brown forest cobra (Naja subfulva) encounters chickens near a village. Then we will visit coastal woodlands, which are home to Eastern green mamba (Dendroaspis angusticeps). Another green mamba species is the beautiful Jameson's mamba (Dendroaspis jamesoni). This episode also shows three species of bush vipers. The first one is the Great Lakes bush viper (Atheris nitschei) from mountains of Albertine Rift. Green bush viper, also called Variable bush viper (Atheris squamigera) is the most common bush viper species. The third species is the Roughscaled bush viper (Atheris hispida), a rare and secretive snake. Later we will show you the Rhinoceros viper (Bitis nasicornis), one of the most beautiful snakes on Earth. A closely related and also deadly venomous snake is the Gaboon viper (Bitis gabonica).
