I have flown a lot, which is a massive understatement. But airports and flying can be a real pain, especially for shorthaul flights. In my experience, highspeed rail provides a much better traveller experience than flying, and the growth of highspeed rail in Italy shows that when highspeed rail is done right, it can easily outcompete shorthaul flights.
