Top 10 Illegal Dog Breeds and Why They Banned.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) has compiled a list of over 400 registered and recognized breeds.
But there's one group that doesn't even make it onto this list those who aren't registered with the AKC or any other kenneling organization.

These are some of what we call "illegal" dog breeds.

What is the most illegal breed of dog?
A true blue pit bull terrier would be at the top of our list. The American Pit Bull Terrier was bred to fight other animals mainly cattle.

It was considered an extremely aggressive fighting animal. In fact, it is still used as such today. Its ancestors were brought into America around 1690. This may explain why they're so fiercely loyal and protective toward humans.

What dog breeds are not allowed?
According to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, no person shall possess a dog knowing that it is dangerous within Section 1(1)(a). Under section 3(1), a dog must not be kept within ten yards of a public highway between sunrise and sunset. A police officer is authorized to seize any dog he believes to be dangerously out of control.
