With all the planning, time and money that goes into OTC backpack elk hunts, backpack sheep hunts, mountain goat hunts, and other wilderness hunts you would think that hunters would never quit. However, 1020% of hunters won't get past the third day of the hunt. This is even higher for new hunters or hunters that have never been on longduration, remote hunts.

In this video I discuss the key reason this occurs, hunters' inability to anticipate, recognize and deal with stress. This issue typically knocks them out of the challenge when hunts hit the stage that I call "The Grind".

This video is directed towards those going on hunts that are physically and mentally challenging this discussion will not be relatable to hunts out of vehicles or comfortable accommodations.
