Alfred born into royalty would have the enormous task of defending Wessex from the Viking invaders who had already taken the ancient Kingdoms of EastAnglia and Northumbria. The neighbouring Kings were dropping like flies and it would be up to Alfred to defend the Last Saxon Kingdom in England. This is his story.
