I decided it was time to go back to my Spidey roots with the show that introduced ME to the character properly. 1994’s SpiderMan: The Animated Series. And I know I’m not the only one who grew up on this Spidey. For the better part of a decade this was the DEFINITIVE version of the character for so many kids, basically until Raimi’s first SpiderMan film released in 2002. And I think you can actually see a lot of this show’s influence in how the Raimi trilogy was approached and executed. But the big question I had going in was: does SpiderMan The Animated series hold up? Or is nostalgia altering my memories? Well, let’s find out.
