"The Sofa of Time" is a fantasy comedy drama written by and starring Nick Frost and Matt King, first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2002. The series follows the misadventures of two characters, Milford (played by Matt King) and Parker (played by Nick Frost), who are laid off from their jobs at a soft furnishings factory and accidentally tumble into the magical world of Gravy. There, they meet an eclectic cast of characters including Marmite the Dwarf, and confront the evil emperor warlock Raamen Bod, who is seeking the magical and powerful Sofa of Time for nefarious purposes. Milford is believed to be the chosen one meant to save the universe from Raamen's malevolent plans.

"The Sofa of Time" incorporates elements of parody and comically critiques the blend of epic fantasy with mundane modern elements, exemplified by Gravy’s world that resembles a Tolkienstyle universe equipped with supermarkets and banks. Nick Frost described it as merging high fantasy with contemporary trivialities, creating a unique backdrop for the comedic storyline.

Despite the success and popularity of the series, a second season was not pursued due to logistical challenges, and the series became a unique standalone project enriching the fantasycomedy genre on radio.
