The Bee Hummingbird of Cuba is the smallest hummingbird in the world and the smallest bird on earth. This tiny hummingbird is seen feeding at hummingbird feeders at Casa Ana in Playa Larga, which is located on the Zapata peninsula. This spectacular hummingbird is known as Zunzuncito on the island because zun zun is the sound made by its wings which beat 80 times per second.
Adrián Cobas, a private birding guide in Cuba and owner of Casa Ana Birding, hosted us in his garden for five wonderful days.
