Ranking your website on Google and Bing requires listing it on thirdparty websites. Google and Bing use information from your website, along with what thirdparty sites say about your business, to help rank it. In this video, I share what search command I use in Google and Bing to see what both search engines know about TM Blast outside of www.tmblast.com

You can also take this one step further and use it for competitor research. In my example, I use the search command "tm blast"—site:tmblast.com to see what both search engines know about my business. For competitor research, you can swap out your brand name for your competitors' and see where they are listed. This is a free way to see what directories they are listed on and whether you should get your business listed there.

Finally, getting listed on thirdparty sites can drive referral traffic (and direct) back to your website. While SEO is about driving organic visits to your website, don't overlook the importance of getting listed on other sites to drive highquality users back to it.
