In September 1987, prisoners held at the Peterhead Prison in Scotland rose up and seized control over one of the prison's buildings. In the unfolding unrest, one of the prison guards was taken as hostage. In the end, after five days of negotiations to bring an end to the crisis, the S.A.S. were authorised to intervene.
