Crime fighters come in all shapes and sizes, in this case, man's best friend.

The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) K9 unit was set up in 1968. Since its inception, the unit has had about 569 dogs and it plays a crucial role in the police force.

The type of dog used the K9 unit include breeds such as German Shepherds, Labradors and Malinois.

The dogs are trained to conduct specific duties and they help in the capture of criminals, sniffing out drugs, firearms and explosives and human remains and body parts.
