In The Parable of The Fig Tree Jesus explained that God is the God of second chances. The parable of the fig tree shows that God is always willing to keep waiting for us to turn to Him and bear fruit. The parable of the fig tree is found in luke 13: 69 and looking at Luke 13: 19 gives us even more perspective. Although Jesus explained the importance and need for us to repent, the parable of the fig tree explained that God is patient. None of us are unworthy of God's forgiveness, and the parable of the fig tree explains that God is watching over us and caring for us in a way that it trying to lead us to Him.

The parables of Jesus explain to us the ways in which God loves us, what He wants from us, who he is, and what the kingdom of Heaven is like. The parables of Jesus are a great way for us to learn how to live the best life possible.

Parable of the Barren Fig Tree
6 Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. 7 Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’

8 “The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. 9 If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.’”
