I was very pleasantly surprised to find this small public campground that in just the right place for our way point stop in the great Texas city of Wichita Falls. This public campground in Wichita Falls is not very large and has no luxury amenities but there is a very cool suspension bridge that provides access to the very large Lucy Park.
On the return leg of our business trip to Amarillo Texas we decided to way point at the city of Wichita Falls operated RV park that is part of Lucy Park. This great city park sits inside of a large bend in the Wichita River. The Wichita River Bend RV Park sits on the outside of this large bend in the Wichita River and just happens to be right next to I 44 that runs north and south through the city of Wichita Falls Texas.
The only downside to RV camping at Wichita River Bend RV Park is the most pervasive road noise from I 44 but that noise does tend to fade after midnight or so. The campground is laid out with mostly pull through sites, all of the RV camp sites in Wichita River Bend RV Park provide water and electric and there is an RV dump station. The campground is first come first served and requires cash payment. At the time of our visit it was only $14.00 per night with a 2 night limit.
If you are heading through Wichita Falls Texas and are looking for a place to spend the night in your RV then Wichita River Bend RV Park might just be a fit for you and your trip. Join me as I find all of the “stuff” at Wichita River Bend RV Park!
