The distress signal on the island was detected by means of a photograph. It happened on August 27, 2007. A Boeing 747SR with registration JA8119 belonging to the airline Japan Airlines, was flying to Narita International Airport in Tokyo, having departed from Mexico City. A man identified as Alan Medina González was on board the plane and, like most passengers, he slept in his seat, in the silence. But what until then was a relatively normal flight, calm, would have become incredible due to a situation that was about to occur.
