Essa música foi gravada por Bob Dylan (EUA) em 1962 e por The Animals (Reino Unido) em 1964. Ficou conhecida mundialmente pelo sucesso que fez com o The Animals, mas na verdade, "The House of the Rising Sun" (A casa do sol nascente) é uma música folclórica americana que fala de uma vida difícil em Nova Orléans, e foi sendo adaptada desde a década de 1930, quando apareceram as primeiras versões.

A música foi baseada em cantos medievais, e de seu estilo folclórico passou por jazz clássico e chegou até essa forma do The Animals. Diversos músicos mostraram sua versão para "Rising Sun" nas décadas seguintes.
