Welcome to this weeks video. The Vinland Map and its story recently fell into my net of fascinations. Join me on todays journey as we try and unravel its mystery.

Usual things to note:

1. We are not historians. We enjoy researching and learning stuff, and with that we enjoy sharing our journeys with you. That said, sources for information often listed below with credits.
2. Errors. Whilst I make every attempt to not include any errors, research and piecing stories together from dozens of sources sometimes leads to one or two. I will note this here if any are found:
A. I don't think the image of Enzo is actually Enzo. When I edited this together I made a note that it was. Now I am not so sure!
B: "Paul completely fails to mention the Scottish amateur researcher who in 2013 convinced Yale that the Map was a forgery". I didn't specifically include much after the 1980's as there was a world of back and forth which I personally didn't feel was justification for inclusion. I may be wrong of course hence my listing here.
C: "No the Map wasn't covered in TO2 ink, the ink lines were". I had assumed that was reasonable obvious that indeed I did mean the ink.
D. "Yale were part of the conspiracy and cover up". In my mind and from the sources I read, Yale admitted that the map, post McCrone study, could well be a forgery. They then went on to validate this themselves using non destructive spectro readings.
E. "Your thumbnail is wrong it did not fool everyone." To be fair, in its early days, I think it did. Please also understand that this is a thumbnail.
F. Many have suggested that the America's were never discovered, in that natives were clearly there for millennia. We fully appreciate that and should have mentioned this within the production. Clearly for this video we are referring to the western worlds discovery of, what was to them a new world.
