This is a deleted scene from The Godfather Part II sourced from The Godfather Trilogy 19011980. It takes place between the scene of Pentangeli complaining to Fredo about waiting for a meeting and another deleted scene about finding Fabrizio in America, which is followed by Pentangeli and the orchestra (love that scene.) This scene shows Sonny Corleone's daughter, Francesca, and her fiance Gardner Shaw being introduced to Michael by Sonny's widow Sandra. This scene, minus the Santino Jr. bit, was included on the 1992 VHS release "The Godfather Trilogy 19011980." I'm sorry for the sudden drop in quality, but that clip with Michael asking Santino Jr. about football only aired as part of The Godfather: The Complete Novel for Television in 1977 on NBC. It was not even included in the 2012 rebroadcast on AMC in HD, known as "The Godfather: A Novel for Television." Thankfully, someone recorded it on Betamax, and people got in touch with people, yada yada yada, it's in a torrent file of someone's fanedit now. Please enjoy, that Santino Jr. clip is exceedingly rare! The CC may be wrong during this bit, as I can't tell if Michael is saying "How's the football?" or "How's the book going?". Obviously there is no way to officially tell, since CC barely existed in 1977, which was the only time the footage was seen, and the recording certainly did not have them. Also, this scene is cut by a few seconds at the very end when Kay is hugging Francesca. You can see these few seconds in my video of The Godfather Saga Part III Closing Montage and Credits, because that's where that episode ends.
