GeologyHub

The Grand Canyon of Arizona is one of the planet's most spectacular geologic oddities. One fun fact is that it contains an active volcano which at several times dammed the Colorado River, and last erupted in 1100 AD. Overall, this impressive landmark is up to 6,000 feet deep, is 277 miles long, and up to 18 miles wide. It was carved by millions of years of erosion and is a testament to the strength of water. This video will describe in detail how it formed, and why the canyon starts and ends where it does.
