The Gangs of Edmonton Alberta Canada

Follow
Strange North

In this video I give an overview of the gangs in Edmonton, Alberta. Edmonton routinely has some of the highest crime rates among major Canadian cities, and while most of it is not gangrelated, a portion of it is.

NOTE All information presented in this video is publicly available and has been covered extensively by other news organizations. This is intended to be a general overview.

CORRECTION In this video I refer to the Hells Angels as a gang, but they are classified as an outlaw motorcycle club an important distinction. Words matter, and I address a few mistakes I made in a followup video I posted a couple weeks ago.

The Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle club is the most dominant group in Canada.

Indigenous street gangs are prominent in the prairie region as well, and the following gangs are active in Edmonton to some degree, although it should be noted that currently the AB/SK/MB Warriors + Native Syndicate have a very limited presence in Alberta.

1 Redd Alert Prominent street gang with origins in Edmonton
2 Alberta Warriors Parallel origin story to Redd Alert, very limited presence in Alberta
3 Indian Posse Largest Indigenous street gang in Canada overall
4 Native Syndicate Prominent Indigenous gang based in Regina, limited presence in Alberta
5 Manitoba Warriors + Saskatchewan Warriors very limited presence in Edmonton

The ASAP gang has been rising in influence throughout the prairies in recent years.

The White Boy Posse is a major gang that started in Edmonton, they had links with the Hells Angels and had a major presence before diminishing significantly. Many members joined other groups.

British Columbia based gangs United Nations and Brothers Keepers have been active in Edmonton to some degree.

The Crazy Dragons are a wellknown Edmonton gang that evolved from the ashes of the Vietnamese Trang Gang, and their prominence was the catalyst for the development of another Edmonton gang the Crazy Dragon Killers. They are no longer really active, but a prominent part of gang history in Edmonton.

Edmonton also has a small but notorious Bloods gang called the 32 Bloods, based around 32 street in the city's Rundle Heights neighborhood.

Some smaller gangs that have been active in Edmonton include:

Ghetto Boyz
Inner City Boyz
North End Jamaicans
West End Jamaicans
West End Boys
4 Deuce Killers
Clareview Crips

The are also many other small gangs in the greater Edmonton area, and I have not listed all of the gangs that have existed in the city.

Edmonton has also reputedly had some minor involvement with larger international crime organizations as well.

Gangs are active throughout the greater entire Edmonton region, but you will probably find more open street gang activity in some of Edmonton's rough areas like the downtown east side, 118 Ave NE, Stony Plain Rd, 107 Ave, 111 Ave, etc.
These are generalizations, however, and do not always apply.
I hope found that interesting and informative, and if you got some value out of this one please consider subscribing to my channel I am new to YouTube/video production and this really helps me out. I upload about one new video per week.

Thanks for watching!
