Mostly untouched by the ravages of nuclear fallout, the Forest region of Appalachia is characterised by forests growing on rugged terrain, winding rivers, and diverse wild and plant life. Bordered by the Toxic Valley to the North, the Savage Divide to the East and the Ash Heap in the South. The area is the location of several prewar settlements including Charleston, Flatwoods, Point Pleasant and Morgantown. Vault 76 is located near the northern climbs of this undulating forest valley, which encompasses some rich farm and logging land.
