The first exit of our bear cubs from the Den House approximately coincides in time with the first exits of bears from dens in nature, i.e. in accordance with the "bear schedule".

This moment is always a very important event in the life of a bear. During the first exits from the den animals imprinted on each other, from this moment the mother bear would protect her bear cubs from any danger, and they would follow her, what helps the family "not to get lost." Our bear cubs also had this “imprinting” mechanism, but only on each other.

Every year, the bear cubs behave differently at this moment: someone with caution during few days does not go out, just exploring the outside being inside the house, and someone bravely goes out practically at the first moment and rush into unknown “forest world”.

So it was with the small bears from the Senior group Choock and Geck, Shima and Nord, Dasha, Mishutka and Matroskin – they got used to new environment rather soon, went out from the Denhouse and began to explorer their forest occupation.

Medoсk and Sakharoсk, Umka, Lodeyushka Gordeevna and NestorPol’ expressed more caution when they left the Denhouse for the first time in comparison with the bear cubs from the Senior Group.

The most "fearless", as we expected, were Medock and Sakharock. In few minutes Umka joined them. But the Leningrad baby bears (Lodeyushka and Nestor) only after 20 minutes dared to take their first steps from the Houseden.

For cubs, everything around is new sounds, smells, objects. And, of course, they need time to get used to new environment. And it happened quite quickly: just a few days after the first exit, these bear peas fearlessly “roll out” from the Denhouse and “scatter” throughout the enclosure, exploring everything that fall under their paws or “on the tooth”. But as soon as they hear an unknown to them sound, the small bears flies like a bullet into its shelter, where sit out until the danger has passed in their opinion.
