From egg, to colourful food frenzy caterpillar, to encapsulation in a cocoon, butterflies are regarded at the summit of insect evolution. With over 150,000 species, the biggest butterfly has a wingspan of over 10 inches and some have quite fine hairs, looking nothing like what you’d picture when you recall the image of a butterfly.
