‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock’ introduced us to the Excelsior. Its basic design reflected the legacy of the Enterprise: the saucershaped primary hull, connected to a cylindrical secondary hull by a dorsal, and from out of that secondary hull sprouted twin engine nacelles. Was it an improvement over the Constitutionclass? Which one was the better design?
