What did I just read?

Hello everyone and welcome to my new video. Geez, this was a library book I plucked out of the shelves without reading the back blurb and what a surprise. It turns out that it's Philip Roth's 29th book and the third part of a trilogy which I wasn't aware about. I'm a bit half hearted in going back to read the first two parts let me just say that.

Regardless, you have to walk in the shoes of another in order to empathise as someone said about fiction books or some such. This one I was constantly rolling my eyes and chuckling to myself not that it was a funny book the character I found quite delusional and pathetic at times what with all the lecturing.....

It was my first Philip Roth novel. Of course, it won't be my last but like Bukowski, I think I can handle his books in small doses if they're like this.

Over to you, what were your thoughts? Am I being overly harsh? Should I just not reviewed the book at all?

I had a lot of fun editing this video. Part of me wanted to keep it unedited for all my swearing in it but I kept one swear word (now that YouTube's algorithm allows for it, maybe I should just have had the unedited video...)
