Due to the influx of certain comments recently, I'd like to take a moment to point out that this video was uploaded over 8 (eight) years ago! I did not take the squirrel home with me the day of the rescue, you can see him running away back into the desert at 58:09. In the wild, this species of ground squirrel has a life expectancy of 34 years, so it's safe to assume it has long since passed on by now. I appreciate all the tips and pointers you all have given me in the comment section, if I ever encounter a situation like this again I'll be sure to use them, but remember, this video was uploaded 8 years ago, so giving advice on how to continue care for the squirrel seen in the video is a tad bit too late.
