Welcome to Finca Vigía (Lookout Farm) home or Mary and Ernest Hemingway, a place where a lot of dramatic events occurred during writers' stay from 1936 to 1960. It was a dream come true for every young writer, journalist, or Hollywood actor to be a guest during those years. Hemingway wrote seven books in Cuba, including The Old Man and the Sea, A Moveable Feast, and Islands in the Stream. After living in Paris, Spain, traveling through Africa it seemed like he found the perfect productive home here, surrounded by welcoming Cuban people that he loved, far away from the craze in the US and the rest of the world where he was considered a superstar. Still today Cubans consider him an important part of their own history.
