The Convergence of CRISPR and Human Stem Cells

Follow
Gladstone Institutes

Gladstone President Deepak Srivastava moderated a conversation with Jennifer Doudna and Shinya Yamanaka to discuss the potential impact of CRISPR and iPS cells over the coming decade and hear from the two worldclass scientists about how they plan to shape the enormous opportunities that lie ahead.

Yamanaka was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2012 for his discovery of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells). And last year, Doudna received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for her codiscovery of the CRISPRCas9 geneediting technology. Arguably the two most impactful advances of this century, the discoveries by these Gladstone investigators are now accelerating our understanding and treatment of human disease at an unprecedented pace.
