A dazzling selection of classic lorries, flatbed trucks, vans and pickups greeted us at this year's Smallwood Vintage Rally. In this video we take a walk around the fine old commercial vehicles on display at this show. There were plenty of later trucks on display but we concentrated on the classic trucks, from longdefunct lorry manufacturers such as ERF, Foden, Leyland, Bedford, AEC, Austin and others, all turned out in superb condition and with many exhibiting excellent examples of the signwriter's art.

I've been around old cars and lorries for years so am a big fan too, so whenever I see a show that includes classic lorries, I do my best to attend and I'll always try and take photos and/or video footage whenever possible.

Highlights in this particular classic lorry video include a wonderful Austinbased BBC outside broadcast van, a stunning prewar Commer sightseeing bus/coach, a wide variety of ERF and Foden lorries from various years, and an unusual Bedford/Lacre street sweeper.
This video mixes footage of the classic lorries parked up on display, and then as they drive around the display arena. Most are of British manufacture but there are also vehicles from further afield too.
