THE CANADIAN ESKIMO DOG - INUIT DOG - SLAUGHTERED IN THE 1960'S

Follow
Animal Watch

The Canadian Eskimo Dog is one of the rarest dogs on Earth, due to a controversial history surrounding the supposed mass slaughter of dogs in the 1950's, 60's and 70's by The Canadian Mounted Police while moving native settlers to encampments. What now remains are a few individuals across the globe. Racheal Bailey of Akna Sled Dogs is set on saving this breed and has done wonders in increasing numbers in the United Kingdom and exporting them globally. Anneka meets Racheal and finds out everything about this hardy sled dogs character, history and workability.
