Bang Slalom weekend 2019
 
    Jake Burton Carpenter was no stranger to snowboard events.
And it didn’t have to be World Cups or Xgames. In the 90’s he frequently showed up at random events to watch what was going and support his team riders.
Sometimes I didn’t even know he was there until half way through the contest. A journalist asked me once if he could get a picture with Jake and myself after the contest. “Oh, is he here? Yes, we just had a chat with him”.
I don’t think any other snow industry founder has seen and supported more events than Jake did. Not that founders are obliged to watch events, just saying it was amazing to see his passion for them in person.
Last year Jake and Donna even found the time to attend the Bang Slalom in Hemsedal. It definitely sparks the energy when they are present. 
 As for 2020, it looks like the event will be postponed, but Bang will be back with a vengeance.
19 is now a blast in the past ....
