Rated as one of the hardest day hikes in the world, the CactustoClouds hike climbs 10,400 ft over the course of 16 miles through desert, forest and subalpine landscapes.
On this trip, we climbed the CactustoClouds trail, summited San Jacinto Peak at sunset, and slept in the Summit Hut, which was built by the Civil Conservation Corps in 1933.
