The Best 5 Small Dual Sport Motorcycles

Follow
Wanderer Moto

Dual sport motorcycles are known for their single cylinder reliability, their ability to both chug along highways and also dominate off road. A dual sport is basically a dirt bike that has been adapted for use on the roads aswell.

These are the true, solid and rugged adventure bikes that if you wanna go on a long journey, you should take a serious look at.

Lets rank these motorcycles starting with the least preferred first. But I think all of these bikes would make a great choice.
Starting with the least preferred motorcycle, in 5th place, the Kawasaki KLX250.

The 249cc single cylinder engine produces 24hp and 15 lbsft of torque, with electronic fuel injection and a fuel capacity of 7.2 litres.
A 9” inch suspension travel both front and back providing a ground clearance of 11.2 inches. Weighing in at 304 lbs wet. The Kawasaki costs $5400 USD.

The fourth bike, the Suzuki DRZ400S.
The 398cc single cylinder engine produces an astonishing 33hp and 25.6 lbft of torque. With electronic fuel injection and a fuel capacity of 10 litres.
With 11.4 inches of suspension travel and providing a ground clearance of 11.8 inches. Weighing in at 317 lbs wet. The Suzuki costs $6750 USD.

The third bike, the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The 411cc single cylinder produces 24.5hp and 23.6 lbft of torque, with electronic fuel injection and a fuel capacity of 15 litres.
With about 7.8 inches of suspension travel providing a ground clearance of 8.6inches. Weighing in at 421 lbs wet. The Royal Enfield Himalayan costs $4750 USD.

The second bike, the Yamaha WR250R. Powered by a 249cc single cylinder engine, it produces an impressive 30.3 hp and 17.5 lbft of torque. With electronic fuel injection and a fuel capacity of 7.6 litres.
With 10.6 inches of suspension travel, providing a ground clearance of 11.8 inches. Weighing in at 295 pounds wet. The Yamaha costs $6700 USD.

And finally, my favourite pick, in first place the Honda CRF450L.
Powered by a 449cc single cylinder engine, it produces an astonishing 41.7 hp and 28 lbft of torque.
With a crazy 12 inches of suspension travel, providing an immense ground clearance of 12.4 inches. And weighing in at only 289 lbs wet with a fuel capacity of 7.6 litres. These specs however come at a premium. The Honda costs $9,999 putting it at the most expensive out of all the bikes listed here. But with these specs it could be worth it.
