The Amazing Health Benefits of Goat's Milk

Dr. Marianne Teitelbaum

Many people resort to the use of goat’s milk only if they have an allergy or sensitivity to cow’s milk. Yet goat’s milk should be used by those even if there is no such sensitivity due to its amazing healing benefits.

Here are a few facts about goat’s milk which are addressed in further detail in the video: Goat’s milk is the most like human breast milk. It is an A2 protein that is easier to digest than the more difficult A1 protein found in cow’s milk. Goat’s milk is easier to digest because the fat molecules are smaller than those found in cow’s milk. Also it contains less lactose, which is why people are less sensitive to it. And in general, the minerals found in goat’s milk are more bioavailable, which means that they are easier to digest and absorb into the blood stream. Cow’s milk contains a trace of selenium, whereas goat’s milk is very high in this nutrient. It also contains iodine.

Both selenium and iodine are used by the thyroid gland to make its hormones. The caprylic, caproic and capric acids are great for helping to fight infections in the gut, such as Candida albicans yeast, and even has anti microbial activity against staph aureus, which causes pneumonia, UTI’s, sinusitis, infective endocarditis and osteomyeomyelitis. It even has antibacterial properties against E. Coli, cholera, salmonella kelbsiella pneumoniae and shigella dystntery. It even protects the lungs against TB, according to the latest research. Goat’s milk is better for losing weight than cow’s milk because of its high levels of medium chain fatty acids. These fatty acids are used to make energy and aren’t stored as fat, which is why it can also lower cholesterol. It has 8 grams of protein per cup; plantbased milks contain little to no protein at all. It also contains high levels of potassium, which is good for those suffering from high blood pressure as it is a potent vasodilator.

There is even something in goat’s milk which enhances our joint health. Many people are not willing to try goat’s milk due to its gamey taste, however if you can find a good quality raw milk from a farmer or a food coop you will find out that the milk tastes just as good if not better than cow’s milk. It all depends on what the goats are eating and how the milk is processed.

Research teams went to Sardinia to see why Sardinians have 10 times the amount of people living to over 100 than in the United States. They found that the people living on the bottom of the mountains had fairly good longevity, but the people living on top of the mountains had even more longevity. Many cite the fact that goat’s milk is consumed on the mountain tops, whereas cow’s milk is consumed at the base of the mountains, and they attribute this to their extreme longevity. The video discusses several other health benefits of goat’s milk, including its effects on the skin suppleness and acne. It is worth your while to give it a try, even if you are not sensitive to cow’s milk.
