In this video, I talk about what I think are the 7 most important items to put in a faraday cage to help prepare for the aftermath of a major EMP attack. The cage may help, but there are many things WAY more important to take care of, which I mention in the video. In fact, the faraday cage should be the least of your concerns! Keep in mind that no one really knows what will happen with a major EMP attack. The information I talk about in this video is based on reading I have done on the subject, off and on, over the years.

If your plan is to use the inverter at home, it would be best to buy a deep cycle battery. If you are out surviving away from home, your average 12 volt car battery will not last very long running the 500 watt Bestek at maximum output, but it is better than nothing. For deep cycle if you are on the road, you might try to find abandoned marine applications, recreational vehicles, materials handling, including forklifts, golf carts and offgrid renewable energy. With a larger inverter, you might consider multiple batteries (You will have to learn how to hook them together safely and effectively).
