York Cardiology

All heart palpitations can be defines into one of 4 types. Understanding these 4 different categories can help you understand whether your palpitations are due to a heart rhythm disorder or not.
My name is Sanjay Gupta and I am a cardiologist in York. If you'd like to contact me, please visit my website: www.yorkcardiology.co.uk

Heart palpitations can be an extremely worrying and distressing symptom especially if they start occurring in the middle of the night and particularly if a person has never experienced them before.

Not only can they be uncomfortable but they also generate a huge amount of fear because the poor patient does not know what they mean.

Then the patient usually goes to their doctor who says lets do a monitor and then the patient waits several days or weeks in fear waiting for this monitor and sometimes even when they get the monitor they dont get their symptoms and as soon as they return the monitor they do get the symptoms and then they dont know whether it is anxiety or heart rhythm disturbance.

so is there an easy way of working out exactly what your palpitations are due to?
and therefore i wanted to do a video which makes it much easier to allow you to work out what could be the underlying diagnosis of your palpitations whilst you are waiting to have a formal diagnosis made.
