The 1981 AFC Championship between the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Diego Chargers was known as THE FREEZER BOWL. It is arguably the COLDEST NFL GAME EVER PLAYED. While the 1967 Ice Bowl between the Packers and Cowboys had an air temperature of 13 degrees, the Freezer Bowl's wind chill neared 60 degrees.
