10. The Heart of the Kingdom Ruby – $14 Million:
The Heart of the Kingdom Ruby Necklace is the world's tenth most expensive necklace. The necklace features a 40.63carat heartshaped ruby in the centre. The central stone is surrounded by 150 diamonds totaling 155 carats.
This necklace is pricey solely because of the scarcity and craftsmanship that has gone into its central ruby. Rubies are among the most valuable gemstones on the planet. Rubies of gem quality, such as the Heart of the Kingdom ruby, are even rarer.
Red stones are the most rare colour found in nature, commanding higher prices than emeralds and sapphires. The Heart of the Kingdom is a classic Burmese gemquality ruby that is one of the finest and most unique stones in the world.

9. The Peacock Necklace – $14.9 Million:
The Peacock Necklace is the world's ninth most expensive necklace. It contains 21 highquality Kashmir sapphires totaling 109.08 carats. The largest sapphire weighs an unheardof 10.56 carats, an unusually large size for the rare and valuable stone.

Finding sapphires is a difficult task because highquality blue gemstones are extremely rare. The designers spent a hundred years just gathering the stones for this oneofakind art piece. The sapphire mine was depleted in 1887, making gemquality stones of this calibre scarce.
There is no other piece on the planet with this amount of the rare gemstone. It took another fifteen years to complete the necklace after the designer found the final stone.
