At any given time, from 14% of testosterone in the blood is considered Free (bioavailable at the tissue level) while the rest is bound to transport proteins. The Testosterone Test, Free & Total will measure the total amount of testosterone in addition to the amount that is unbound and free to be used at the tissue level. This helps give an added level of understanding as to what might be causing symptoms related to low testosterone levels.
