There comes times in bird ownership where you'd think your bird would be terrified of an object when rather they are completely unphased.
Then there are times you cannot understand why they are suddenly so afraid of something that seems absolutely harmless.... This was one of those times .
So like any responsible parrot mom I set out to TRY and gently help Gotcha learn that these pumpkin seeds will not and cannot hurt him lol.
I do this for 2 reasons, 1 I want Gotcha to see that he doesn't need to fear things that won't harm him (if he cowered in fear at everything remotely scary, then he would live a life always cautious and afraid of everything he didn't understand and that's no way to live!)
And 2 to help him trust me even further and know that I would never ever expose him to harm.
It can be a great bonding experience and confidence builder if done gently and correct!
Never rush it! Take it slow and take your time. Their confidence and bravery will blossom in time.

I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds.
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.

They deserve the absolute best!
If you are interested in a parrot, adopt one because you have the time, money, patience, energy and if you want to save them from a life stuck behind bars, not solely because they are cute or funny or talk etc.
Again parrots are a LIFETIME commitment.

They can live up to 80+ years!! Which means they just might outlive you, and where will they go if something happens to you and one day you don't come home? What will happen to them? Who will love them and care for them? All things to consider....
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots and other animals the best life they can possibly have!

It is an honor to share our lives with these amazing creatures.
Please ADOPT DONT SHOP!
Please choose not to buy babies from a breeder who breeds for profit, there are thousands of birds suffering in cages abandoned and unloved waiting in sanctuaries and rescues, for homes to be cared for properly and loved.

PLEASE do your research and educate yourself before adopting, they are a lot of hard work but so worth it if you do things right and do what is best for them.

After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies, they only have us❗❗
