Tennessee Mountain View tells the story of one of several abandoned places in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee region near Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The abandoned place explored in this urban exploration video is an old amusement park where a yellow chairlift, pool, and go kart track, and more were all still there, although time had certainly taken its toll.

The abandoned places in the area have a history that's interesting because it's a vacation area. While exploring the abandoned amusement park, I noticed that there was an old road I could follow up a hill. While I didn't make it all the way up the hill, I later discovered that the top of the hill had the end of the chairlift line, as well as train tracks for a small kid's train, and more.

This video of abandoned places documents urban exploration of the Fun Mountain abandoned amusement park, which was a theme park located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Abandoned amusement parks are fascinating, and they are perhaps some of the most interesting abandoned places in the world. This film about an abandoned theme park in Tennessee has a very interesting ending and history, and is well worth the short 20minute watch. Spoiler alert: I later learned that the site used to be the home of the Mountain View Hotel, thus, the name of this video has two meanings.

Abandoned places including amusement parks and hotels can be fascinating to explore, especially when the same site of a defunct amusement park used to be a hotel. I wish I could have seen the old Mountain View Hotel back when it was still open, but it was closed by the time I got to exploring the area. I hope you enjoy the abandoned places video.

My original description for this video was as follows: In searching to discover what lies at the top of the mountain where an abandoned chairlift ends, I learned that the real story is down at ground level. What began as a hike to the peak ended up resulting in so much more. Tennessee Mountain View documents an important part of the history of Gatlinburg.

While the abandoned Fun Mountain theme park isn't expected to return, my urban exploration efforts showed that it's a piece of Gatlinburg history that won't soon be forgotten.
