The State of Tennessee will be using almost $163 million from the Capital Projects Fund (CPF) to improve broadband in the state. The CPF is a grant program that was part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), which is allocating $10 billion in grants to the states for broadband projects. The funds in Tennessee are going toward projects that will be deploying middlemile and lastmile broadband infrastructure, digital skills training, and workforce development. The state also will be providing funding to "Broadband Ready Communities'', which have committed to streamline review of applications and permits related to broadband projects.
