Tout droit venues d’Angleterre, les « free parties » débarquent en France à la fin des années 80. Ces rassemblements illégaux et clandestins reposent sur une idéologie libertaire et anticonsumériste.
Soumis à une répression importante, ils peinent à survivre et laissent peu à peu place à des événements controlés et supervisés par l'Etat.
Le Teknival, rassemblement emblématique du mouvement libre, a suivi cette mouvance d’officialisation.
En mai 2015, il a eu lieu dans un aéroport militaire désaffecté près de Cambrai, dans le Nord de la France.



Originating in England, “free parties” arrived in France at the end of the 1980s. These illegal gatherings were built upon an ideology of freedom and anticonsumerism.
Now tightly regulated, they struggle to survive and are gradually giving way to legal events that are controlled and monitored by the state.
Teknival, the emblematic gathering of this free movement, has followed this shift toward formalisation.
In May 2015, Teknival took place in a decommissioned military airport near Cambrai in northern France.
