In 2020, Jose Nuñez Romaniz, a 19yearold college student in Albuquerque, found $135,000 in cash mistakenly left by a bank subcontractor at an ATM. Despite coming from a family with humble beginnings, he chose to call the police and hand over the money. His integrity was rewarded with recognition from city officials, a plaque from the police chief, an invitation to apply for a job at the police department, sports memorabilia, season tickets for UNM football, and cash and gift cards from local businesses. Nuñez, who dreams of being a crime scene investigator, was praised by his family and the community for his honesty. (As reported by WMUR.com )
