I am teaching Willow to love the sound of the dremel in preparation for using it to file her nails. I'm using a simple procedure of pairing the sound of the dremel with a delicious treat: think Pavlov's dogs. I started in the same room. Here I am testing how strong the association is between the sound of the dremel and something enjoyable happening when she is resting in another room. Will she come running in anticipation? Has conditioning occurred?
