Taking on the RED Trails | The Pilgrimage 2021

Fall has rolled into New England, which means that much like the brilliant foliage, wheeling season has peaked. Late September has traditionally welcomed the annual Vermont Overland Rally (or Birdwatching Safari as it was later called), but that event is no more, and a new one has taken its place: The Vermont Ancient Road Pilgrimage....or just "The Pilgrimage" for short.

Besides new ownership, not much has changed. There's still a campground, and a couple hundred eager participants ready to pit their rigs against Vermont's glorious Class 4 trails (in between long nights at the campfire). I'll admit that I currently get way more excited about wheeling than full blown overlanding, and because of that I made sure that this year, I'd get to do more of the hard stuff. So, naturally, I met up with Matt and Mike (two experienced Jeepers) and we went against some of the more rugged terrain. It was a total blast, and I hope you guys get some enjoyment out of watching us (mostly me) struggle through some of the hairier sections.
