E22 was struck from the attic by an owl twice overnight which sent him to a branch below the nest. When I got there at 6:15 AM, E22 was perched quietly, moving around & flapping his wings at times, appearing to be okay. A Loggerhead Shrike also was pestering E22. E22 studied branches and looked above to find a way out and back to the nest. One of the adult GHO (great horned owls) was seen perching on a branch by N2 in the west pasture. At 9:24 AM E22 fledged, flying beautifully with a nice landing in a front church pine. E22 hopped branches and flew once again across the road and out of sight. E22 was spotted on a roof top flying & hopping up & down the roof. So precious! The E's are 12 weeks old this week. (E21 is 87 days old & E22 is 84 days old today.) Harriet was last seen February 2nd. "I love you Mom" and miss you terribly.
